After the partnership of Mavericks and Voyager, a lucky fan won a grand prize in Bitcoin according to a Cointelegraph article from October 30 which reports,
“A Dallas Mavericks fan won $100,000 in Bitcoin (BTC) after making a series of shots in a National Basketball Association (NBA) shootout event sponsored by crypto brokerage firm Voyager Digital.
Isaiah Stone, the winner of the basketball shootout, completed all stages of the challenge that included a free throw, a three-pointer and a half-court field goal. According to the Dallas Mavericks, the Voyager-sponsored prize money was the largest on-court promotion for the team.”
The special and uncommon partnership between the Dallas Mavericks and Crypto Voyager started a week ago after Mark Cuban wanted to introduce cryptocurrency to the people according to a Bitcoin article from October 29. They say,
“The NBA team Dallas Mavericks has partnered with crypto platform Voyager and is offering its fans a $100 bonus in bitcoin to sign up and trade crypto on the partnered platform. “We’re going to come up with new ways to introduce Mavs fans to cryptocurrency and help them understand it,” said Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks.
“I think working together, we’re going to be at the forefront of innovation,” Cuban opined. “We’re going to come up with new ways to introduce Mavs fans to cryptocurrency and help them understand it.”
He continued: “There’s a lot of hype, there’s a lot of discussion, but most people don’t understand the fundamentals behind it. We’re going to try to bring that level of education to our fans and to our joint customers.”
Initially, Mark Cuban’s dedication to introduce cryptocurrency started when he first witnessed his son’s investment in a cryptocurrency called Dogecoin according to a Deseret News article from October 29 which reports,
“Cuban has been a big supporter for the cryptocurrency world. In May, Cuban spoke a lot about the Dogecoin cryptocurrency, saying he even has his 11-year-old son Jake investing in the meme-based cryptocurrency, as I wrote for the Deseret News.
“It’s not necessarily the best investment you can make, but you can buy it on Robinhood, and signing up and trading on Robinhood is free. So that’s one thing,” Cuban said.”
The $100,000 prize was a necessary step to invite and encourage people to participate and utilize the power and ability of cryptocurrency brought by the technological advancement of our era. With Cuban’s initiative, more and more people will be able to enjoy a hassle-free investment and systematic way of managing their money.
