Merlin Entertainments will open a second Peppa Pig Theme Park in North Richland Hills, Texas on the former site of Mountasia Family Fun Center in 2024, according to a Dallas Morning News article. In it they say,
“Merlin Entertainments, the company behind the Legoland Discovery Center and Sea Life Aquarium in Grapevine, said Tuesday it will open North America’s second Peppa Pig Theme Park in North Richland Hills in 2024.
The park will be on the 14-acre site of the former Mountasia Family Fun Center next to the NRH20 Family Water Park along Boulevard 26, according the city of North Richland Hills.
Merlin previously opened a Peppa Pig Theme Park in Cypress Gardens, Fla., last year that includes attractions such as a family roller coaster, a balloon ride, an indoor cinema and a fairground with games. That park is near the Legoland Florida Resort in Winter Haven.”
The upcoming Peppa Pig Theme Park in North Richland Hills, Texas will offer rides, shows, and entertainment based on characters from the show. The area already has Peppa Pig World of Play Dallas and an upcoming Universal theme park, according to a USA Today article which reports,
“Like the world’s first standalone Peppa Pig Theme Park, which opened in Central Florida last year, this new park will feature rides, shows and other entertainment based on characters and locations fans will “instantly” recognize from the show.
The park announcement comes less than two months after Universal revealed plans for its own family-friendly theme park in the Dallas suburb of Frisco, Texas.
The area is already home to Peppa Pig World of Play Dallas, an indoor play center in Grapevine, just north of DFW International Airport.”
The Peppa Pig Theme Park in North Richland Hills will be located in a commercial area near a water park, restaurants, and shopping centers, with Tarrant County College’s northeast campus across the street. The community is thrilled about the park’s arrival.
