Dallas Postino wine bar has closed, but a new location is set to open in Southlake. The chain is expanding in Houston, according to a Dallas Morning News article. They say,
“It’s a shame to see this funky, Phoenix-based chain shut down in Dallas. It had a great patio, low-priced glasses of wine and better-than-expected food. I liked the Brussels sprouts salad with spicy Marcona almonds and dried cherries; the vegetarian panini; and the prosciutto and brie sandwich with fig jam and vinegar.
With this closure, Postino has no more restaurants in Dallas for now, but state records show a Postino is slated to open in Southlake. The company is growing more steadily in Houston, with four wine bars in Houston proper, another in Katy and a coming-soon restaurant in The Woodlands.”
Postino’s first Dallas location opened in April 2021, offering shareables, panini, salads, soups, charcuterie, and a vast wine selection, according to a CultureMap Dallas article. They say,
“It’s been an amazing journey serving the Deep Ellum community, but yes, we’ve made the difficult decision to discontinue operations at this location in order to focus on new growth. Texas has been and continues to be a place that truly aligns with who we are as a company, and we’re excited to open additional locations in the future.”
A bit short on the kind of details we live for, but there you have it.
The closure came as a surprise to neighboring businesses. However, the space had reportedly been on the market, quietly, in the real estate realm for a month.
This was the first Postino location in Dallas. It opened in April 2021 with a menu built around shareables, panini, salads, soups, and boards. It had a big selection of bruschetta including Brie, Apple & Fig Spread, plus charcuterie boards, panini, and a bar featuring 30 wines by the glass and 40 wines by the bottle.”
Postino’s Deep Ellum location in Dallas is available for lease, but the company hasn’t provided a reason for its closure.
