The mayor of Dallas has started an initiative to distribute vaccines through pop-up vaccination events according to a Dallas Morning News article from April 30th. In it they say:

“In the latest effort to increase COVID-19 vaccine access in underserved communities, Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson is partnering with private providers to distribute doses.

Johnson announced the creation of the Neighborhood Vaccine Initiative Thursday. The initiative, which is separate from the city of Dallas’ efforts, will kick off with three upcoming pop-up vaccination events across Southern and West Dallas.”

There will be three separate pop-up vaccination events according to a CBS 11 DFW article from April 29th. In it they say:

“Mayor Johnson and the Caring Foundation of Texas, through its Care Van program, will co-host three vaccination events in the coming days. The first will be Friday at Bishop Arts Theatre Center in North Oak Cliff. The second will be Saturday at LG Pinkston High School in West Dallas. And the third event is scheduled for Tuesday at Jubilee Park Community Center in South Dallas.”

This is part of a larger effort across North Texas to make the vaccine more accessible.
