H-E-B fans flock to Frisco as the grocery chain opens its first branch in the DFW Metroplex according to a KSAT article. They say, 

“H-E-B fans flocked to Frisco on Wednesday morning as the beloved Texas grocery chain opened its first store in the DFW metroplex. 

Hundreds of people lined up for the grand opening as a high school marching band performed in front of piles of pumpkins at the store’s entrance. 

Frisco is located about 25 minutes north of Dallas and shoppers have been anticipating the store opening for more than a year.

It’s H-E-B’s first flagship store in the area, though six Central Market stores have been serving DFW-area shoppers for more than two decades.:

The newly opened branch is more than just a store according to a MYSA article. They say,

“The Frisco opening was no different. Aside from the long lines for H-E-B’s launch, Frisco’s True Texas BBQ sold a record amount of brisket. Like, a LOT of brisket. The restaurant chain shared the total on Instagram on Thursday, September 22, saying, “Whewee Frisco y’all sure know how to eat!  Yesterday was a huge day as we opened our very first @heb in the DFW metroplex! Frisco showed out and ordered up more than 1,000 pounds of brisket!”

Kristin Irvin, H-E-B’s director of restaurants, confirmed the stat, saying, “On opening day in Frisco, we sold 1K pounds of brisket, which took all night to smoke in two large smokers.” 

The store will be open Monday to Sunday from 6am to 11pm. It is located at 4800 Main Street.
