Dr. Pepper & Blue Bell’s Delightful Ice Cream Fusion

Texas favorites, Dr Pepper and Blue Bell, team up for a new ice cream flavor: vanilla ice cream blended with Dr Pepper-flavored sherbet, according to a Local Profile article which reports,

“The delightful new concoction from the two iconic Texas brands consists of creamy vanilla ice cream mixed together with a Dr Pepper-flavored sherbet.

“The best ice cream floats are made with Dr Pepper poured over a few scoops of Blue Bell,” said Jimmy Lawhorn, Blue Bell vice president, Sales and Marketing, in a statement. “Why not put a spin on this popular treat and create our own version? The flavor of Dr Pepper and texture of the sherbet combine perfectly with the smooth vanilla ice cream. You may find yourself reaching for a soda glass instead of a bowl.””

If you can’t find it now, don’t worry. Blue Bell will continue distributing the flavor until 2024. They offer over 40 flavors in 23 states, reaching places like Nevada, Illinois, and Virginia, according to an Austin Culture Map article which reports,

“Certainly, it’s easy to imagine taking Lawhorn’s suggestion. Not only could someone eat a scoop of Dr Pepper Float ice cream, they could also make a Dr Pepper float by pouring a can of Dr Pepper soda over some scoops of Dr Pepper Float ice cream in a tall glass.

If it isn’t immediately available in the freezer section, be patient. Blue Bell will distribute the flavor through 2024. Currently, the Brenham-based company sells more than 40 ice cream flavors in 23 states, including places as far away from Texas as Nevada, Illinois, and Virginia.”

Dr Pepper, the oldest major soft drink in the US, originated in Waco, Texas in 1885. Blue Bell Creameries, founded in 1907 in Brenham, Texas, has become a popular ice cream brand with over 40 flavors.
