Dallas Arts District’s Musume restaurant expands to Fort Worth’s downtown, opening on June 26, 2023, in the historic Sandman hotel, according to a Dallas Morning News article reporting,
“Dallas Arts District restaurant Musume is expanding into downtown Fort Worth. The Asian fusion restaurant opened June 26, 2023, in the Sandman, a hotel from Dallas Stars owner Tom Gaglardi.
The 20-story building, standing since 1920, was once one of the tallest towers in the Southwest. It has long been referred to as the W.T. Waggoner Building and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.”
Musume boasts a minimalist décor that strikingly contrasts with the building’s architecture. Japanese gardens, Zen lighting, red walls, and more create a unique ambiance, according to a Fortworth article. They say,
“Now home to the Sandman Signature Hotel above, Musume’s minimalist décor serves as a poignant contrast against the building’s white brick exterior and neo-classical architectural style. Musume’s ambiance includes tranquil Japanese gardens, Zen lighting, Shinto red walls, gilded artwork, intimate izakaya-style seating, “floating” banquettes, multiple private dining rooms, and a 2,000-square-foot black-lacquer bar back-lit in red.”
Musume’s menu is a fusion of Asian flavors with a variety of appetizers, tempura, salads, entrees, sides, and many more that entice the palate.
