The Dallas ISD along with a couple of private restaurants have some generous Turkey Day plans. The Dallas ISD will be handing out Thanksgiving meals at 11 different locations according to an NBC5 DFW article published November 25th. In it they say:
“Even though school is out all Thanksgiving week, Dallas Independent School District staff continues to help students and families in need. On Monday Nov. 23, Dallas ISD will distribute curbside meals for students at 11 locations. The distribution runs from 11 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. until supplies last. Meal boxes include six breakfasts, six lunches, three snacks and three dinners.”
A private restaurant in Dallas is also handing out free Turkey Days meals according to a Dallas Morning News article published on November 24th. In it they say:
“The restaurant workers at 8020 Concepts will hand out 500 free Thanksgiving meals in Dallas on Wednesday, Nov. 25.Each meal feeds four to six people, and they’re available to anyone in need, no questions asked, says company owner Elias Pope. His company operates HG Sply Co. (in Dallas, Fort Worth and Trophy Club), Standard Service (in Dallas and Heath) and Leela’s Wine Bar and Hero, both in Dallas. The company also makes food for Dallas Stars and Dallas Mavericks athletes in a commercial kitchen near American Airlines Center.”
It’s nice to see that current troubles haven’t snuffed out the Dallas community’s spirit of generosity and charity.
