A heroic firefighter saves two people while on his way to work according to a NBC 5 DFW article from October 30 which reports, 

“An off-duty Dallas firefighter helped two people out of a burning home when he spotted the blaze on his way to work early Saturday morning, officials say.

Firefighters responded to the blaze just after 5:30 a.m. in the 800 block of E. 9th Street in Oak Cliff, but when crews arrived they found two people in the front yard, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue.”

Details regarding the fire were provided and it was revealed that an off-duty firefighter had save the two people and that the fire was intentionally set by another person according to a WFAA article from October 30 which says,

“Arriving firefighters found two people with burn injuries in the front yard of the home and learned that they were helped by an off-duty firefighter.

The two injured people were taken to a hospital for treatment. Their conditions are unknown.

Crews were able to put out the fire, but the house suffered “significant damage,” according to the department.

Dallas Fire-Rescue investigators determined the fire was started in the living room purposely, the department said.

The department said a suspect was arrested and charged with arson. Further details on the incident were not immediately released.”

Despite the heroic act of the off-duty firefighter, he wanted to remain anonymous even though he knew that what he did resulted in a more positive outcome.
