A 24 year old construction worker fromPlanodied Wednesday after being hit by a forklift while working on the construction site for the newParklandhospital. The worker suffered internal injuries, and was transported to the currentParklandhospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Officials from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigating the accident. The investigation could last six months. According to OSHA officials, the construction company is cooperating with the investigation. The construction project began in 2010 and is expected to be completed by July of 2014.
